Default Ok, your old waders are shot and what did you do with your old ones?

Picked this web site up off a post in the SpeyPages. These folks take old waders and 'recycle' them into new products.

Unique idea: http://www.recycledwaders.com/pages/..._repurpose.asp

I use mines as waterproof trousers for boat fishing.Way better by far than most branded waterproof fishing trousers by a mile.

Default Interesting follow up.

Other than the 'trash can' where can you go with these old guys?

Tons of posts ... "My waders gave up, they leak, warranty Who gives a flying fxxx? You purchased/paid $700 USD (+/-?) bucks for a set of XYZ's and in months 'send them back and we'll repair them.'

I'm sorry, for that kind of money it doesn't wash (bad pun intended) with me. At some point the 'buying public' just has to stand up and say: "YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUXKING KIDDING?"

Same thing for 'Name Brand' fly rods?

When?

As usual ... Just thoughts, just thoughts ....

Total agreement, but.....

Coming back to fly fishing, I was appalled at some of the prices - couldn't, wouldn't pay them and more than happy with my "budget" Trion XT rods, JN lines etc

However - and my grasp of economics is shaky to say the least - if people don't pay some of these stonking prices, would I be able to get the benefit of improved technology at budget prices? Not to mention, end of range/season bargains?
