Default Bank Holidays

We've got a good few bank holidays coming up soon.

Friday 22nd April Good Friday
Monday 25th April Easter Monday
Friday 29th April Royal Wedding
Monday 2nd May Early May Bank Holiday
Monday 30th May Spring Bank Holiday

Where are you planning on heading during this time and have you been sneaky enough to book the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as holiday time too?

After reading the post on Ladybower I am really tempted to head down there some time soon, but during these two bank holidays I'd really like to head to Wales, The Lakes, Northumberland or Scotland. It all depends on costs for me though. Petrol prices are so high at the minute. I may end up staying in Yorkshire.

Next year in 2012 we have another extra day's holiday thanks to the royal's as its the Queens Diamond Jubillee we have a day off on Tuesday 5th June in addition to 4th June which is Spring Bank that year.

My letter to HM a few years ago requesting St. Georges Day as a permanent national day's holiday in England was referred from the Queen to the government where it fell on deaf ears. I think we should also have the 1st August off here in Yorkshire as well for Yorkshire Day. These Weddings and Jubilee's though are a small measure of compensation.

I wouldn't mind heading to LOM or South West Wales but I'll have to see what money is like in a few weeks from now.

John

Booked the three days as soon as I could, and heading north for three days on the Clyde with Buzz, then south again for a few days with Midlander on the ressies.

Three days holiday for eleven off, bargain.

I'm taking junior DF to the Scottish borders from 26/04 to 2/05; I suspect many places will be busy, what with the prospect of 11 days off for only 3 days vacation.......................
