Best bit of advice IMO for this time of year is keep moving. When you have found them, they will not be hard to catch.

Where are you looking to go?

Just have a look around and see were the vast majority of boats are on the water this normally indicates were the vast majority think the fish are?

If you haven't had any offers in 20 mins, move. Experiment with methods and depths in a methodical way, once you've found what they want, haul em out! Good luck

Fish along the roadshore from the Boatdock, and along the Dam wall. The 1st couple of bays will have a good head of fish.
Straight across from the boatdock is worth a few drifts into the corner of the dam.The corner of the dam at the pier is worth a few casts.
Make sure you have a Drogue.Carron is a very windy place.Give the orange bouys a wide berth under power.
Carron fish can and do lie tight to the shore.

Make sure you go out with someone else. Carron is a big water that can easily turn nasty and you don't want to be out there on your own.

I would Agree with Wiremill.Carron is not really a place for a beginner to try and get experience, especially if you were to want to go out on your own.You will see that many days a year are lost to the fishery because of windy/dangerous conditions.

It's just as easy to blank in a boat as it is elswhere.

Thanks lads, All tips duly taken on board. Thanks 'Gray' for the Carron clues also. I will be in the company of an experienced angler on the day so thanks for the concern over the boat.
