Default Fly Identification

I am very inexperienced and fished about 4 times all in the past 6 weeks.

Because of the cold weather I have caught on lures such as minkies and bloodworm apps.

However I have been given 3 fly boxes full of more traditional flys and whilst I have read match the hatch, whats the best way of identifying what flies I own.

I know this will sound obvious to you experienced guys but I must have 100 plus flies and i dont know what they are

There are thousands of flies, more than there are real ones.
Perhaps you could do a photo of the flies in the box to show everyone what they are. Better than trying to describe each one.

Thats a cracking idea, but i am happy to do the leg work, just wondering if there was a book or catalogue.

I have an idea on some of them e.g daiwl bach, GRHE, there seems to be lots of damsel and cat whisker patterns

There are almost as many books as fly patterns, will take a lot of leg work.
If you think you know what they are, but not 100%, then try the search function and see what it comes up with. A little more difficult for the patterns that you don't know.
Good luck.

aldo............ have a look at this web site click on any section ie dry, wet, etc then when the page opens just run your mouse over the flies and it will give you an enlarged picture and a description until you move your mouse off that specific fly then just click from the selection on the left .....
