Default Berwick on Tweed trout fishing

Morning all.

I have just booked a week stay in the area of Berwick for some trout fishing at the end of April, trips to Whinney loch and Whiteadder reservoir booked already. Has anybody fished these yet, if so how did you get on?. Also, are there any other venues in the area I could consider, either lake, river or reservoir?.

Tks in advance

A

Hi mate,
my friend fishes whinney loch on a regular basis and does very well on apps bloodworm, buzzer`s and cdc shuttlecock`s.Whilst you are there I would definately have a day at coldingham loch, buzzer`s fish very well here especially the time that you are going, this is very close to whinney loch.

Coldinghams definitely one to try.
A great little loch, possibly the best in the area.
Another good water is Watch Reservoir.
About half an hour from Berwick, it's a wild water in beautiful moorland surroundings.

End of April might be a bit early for the Whiteadder, I wouldn't normally fish it before end of May/June. If you're looking to fish a bigger water, I'd definately suggest the Watch at Longformacus. Coldingham is definately worth a shot and at the time your fishing, none of the weed will have appeared yet so plenty of bank fishing space. If you want to fish smaller waters, Markle or Tweedale are not far up the road.
