It would depend on the power of the electric engine but a 110 AMH would be the best one to go for. The batteries are heavy but worth the hassle to be able to manoeuvre a boat with any noise.

The 44lb thrust will be fine.85amh battery ok for small loch/few hours but bigger loch/windy/longer day 110amh.

One thing you have not been told is you well need a deep cycle/ leisure battery not just a 80 or 120ah cranking battery as used on vans and diesels for starting.
reason they hold charge longer and release it at a more even rate.

Yes Jim but type is more important in this!
You can have a 100ah battery which is designed for starting cars and vans but is poor at delivering sustained output
Or you can have a 100ah deep cycle/ leisure one that is designed for sustained usage, as in driving motors.
These are two completely differant beasts but both 100ah.

The word ''Leisure'' is the giveaway. They are not designed for starting cars/vans.they are all Deep cycle designed for sustained usage.
