Hi Colin, have a look at the Lechlade Update thread in the stillwater forum. look at the latter few pages which relate to this season. Overall, it;s full of double figure browns, but it is not easy. Fish deep and slow and fish the bays and areas near and under trees. the browns like structure.

Hi colin,
fished last sat and sunday it fished quite hard but the three areas that fished well where the point at the far end fishing towards the island and the solid bank platform area between the floating platforms oppisite the far end of the island.

The best area for me was the tree that is in the water after you go over the little floating bridge as you walk round towards the boat house or the concrete platform just past the tree casting towards the outside edge of the tree branches.

I fished a fast glass with anything with rubber legs mainly olive counted down for just 10 to 15 secs we took both browns and rainbows with a chopping short stripp retrieve.

hope this helps

I wondered about popping up on Sunday - not booked yet - so might just do farmoor instead.

Hello.
Thank you for all the advice, what depths are we fishing in,and line strength and length needed?. Fly choice CJ down and dirty/Sid Knight Firebird/Blue Flash Damsel, or any other that you can suggest.
Thank You.Colin.

the areas I suggested are around 4 to 6 feet deep also found that an orange cone head damsel worked ok if I had chance the browns tend to follow right in so dont forget to fish your cast right back and speed up in the last few feet i was using an 8lb cast and banked browns to 13lb 4oz
