Default Lliw Reservoir

Lliw Reservoir
Hi all, sorry if this in the wrong section (I did look honest)
Just wondering about Lliw Reservoir. At the moment the cafe etc is closed. There is nowhere to buy a permit from and as far as I can see no one is running it. Does this mean that I can fish there for free – or is there someone I should contact?
I’ve tried looking everywhere for info, but come up empty handed and I don’t want to fish illegally.
Thanks in advance for any information.
Kay

PS. Welcome to the Forum Kay.

Lower Lliw Reservoir to close

We regret to announce that Lower Lliw reservoir will be closed for fishing on the 30th of September, we would like to take this oppertunity to thank all our regular customers for their support over the years and wish them all the best for the future.
If you could put this in instead of the report i would be grateful, it's come to a point where the economic situation means that we have to close the reservoir.

All the best,

Jock.

Lliw is definitely closed to fishing at the moment and no word of if and when it may reopen. As has been said you have Garnffrwd not far away and if it's big fish you want there's always Shimano Felindre in the same village as the Lliw.

Not sure if its big fish I want necessarily. Ive only just started to fly fish, so basically any fish would be nice.

I had been wondering about The Lliw myself actually. I fished there quite a lot with my father when I was young - the pump coming on used to be quite an event

I had heard about it being closed and think it is quite sad actually. What a shame. It would be nice if somebody could get hold of it and get it going again. A local club / society, but the trouble is manning a place like that. I guess that would be the problem.

I would be interested to hear any news on the place though. It was never a premier fishery, but it was nice on some evenings in the Summer with the dries, or when I used to fish it on Boxing Day from a boat with the old man and ice on the rod rings
