Default Polarised Varifocals Advice needed (or any other options!)

Does anyone have any experience with these?
Can you recommend a supplier?
At the moment I'm using a pair of clip ons which are basically ****!.
Any suggestions or what do you use?
Cheers
Frank

I've tried overglasses - Cocoons and Eyelevel. I'm currently using a pair of polarised Eyelevel clipons, which I've found very good on my varifocals. I'm long sighted, so I struggle sometimes with tiny flies and light tippets, for which I use a pair of clip on Snowbee magnifiers. Its a bit of a pfaff sometimes taking clipons off, putting on magnifiers, tying flies on, taking magnifiers off, putting clipons back on.

As its the close work I struggle with, I'm thinking of a pair of prescription polarising glasses for distance work (i.e. not varifocals) and then using magnifiers for close work.

Until then, its the Eyelevel clipons over my varifocals and the pfaffing with magnifiers for me......

Regards

Tony

Optilabs, not cheap though.

Optilabs:sports glasses, prescription sports glasses, prescription sunglasses, polarised sunglasses, cycling glasses, fishing glasses

I got bi-focals from my optition made from Photochromic Polarised lense that she sourced. Her boss thought the lens so good he had a pair made for himself that he used on holiday and he thought it was great not having to change from his prescription sunglasses to his ordinary ones when going indoors He also wasn't aware that such lenses were available so it might be worth asking and directing your provider to the Optilabs website

Orvis do some good ones made by ONO, with ground-in rather than stuck on bits.....found them excellent.

Default Polorised varifocals

Hi Frank

last year I decided to bite the bullet on glasses as I now use vari focals and it was a nuisance swapping between them and poloroids or using poloroid clip ons on top of the varifocals.

I looked around a lot and eventually decided to use Optilabs even as though as has been mentioned they are expensive. I got the version which has two shades of polorisation so that poor light and normal light levels would be covered. They are great and I drive to the water in them etc and do not need to carry extra glasses anymore. It certainly safes the hassle when tying on tiny flies

Another vote for Optilabs, but the ain't cheap! I've recently bought my second pair of varifocals from them - Storm frames and Ultra 2000 lenses and I'm really pleased with them.
Do check for deals at your local opticians though. A friend who does a lot of sailing recently got a pair free when she bought a new pair of ordinary prescription glasses from a high street optician.

Hi Andy

Where you get the magnifier from as I wear lenses and have a cracking pair of Oakleys I can use?
