Question Fishing multiple boobies?

I have never fished multiple boobies on one cast and am interested if people do? and the results?

I was wandering if having 2/3 boobies on one cast would be a bit too much and possibly put the fish off?

I am writing this with thought to farmoor 2 this weekend where heavy sinking lines are likely to be the go.although a hatch might be on in the afternoon.

A good booby method for Farmoor 2 was described to me by BobP, and I have used it with success. It's a real "booby nymph" method, not a "booby lure".

Small-ish booby on the point of an 8 to 10 foot leader, and a natural colour hares' ear nymph on the single dropper. Nice slow, deep retrieve. Works very well when the fish are feeding on hoglice. I see that Craig Barr, not being slow, is now offering Grafham Killer Shrimp hopper flies for sale - the thought of using one or 2 of those flies for this Farmoor method is intriguing.

I once bagged up in a competition on Rutland with a DI7 and three Boobies in shallowish water.
Not for the purist though!

I regularly fish with two boobies and a blob or three boobies, usually in front of a fast glass intermediate line. I only use boobies with 6mm eyes.

Try it - 2 boobies with a cormorant in between them. Was always well worth a go when I used to fish early season stuff. Give it a go.

I tried all that 'artifarty' stuff with the floating line wet flies etc. on a fishery in the middle of march over 600' above sea level and surprise surprise, not much sucess. Compared to fishing a 'Tullis Wiggle Nymph' from a tube on a fast sinking line, a few boobies is definitely 'gentlemanly'. The Tullis is that evil, it would probably eat the boobies on the retrive.
Seriously though, fishing boobies on a day ticket water is a pretty effective way of catching a few trout and a lot less strenuous than watching some of the 'top' rods fishing the pulling lures. Having said all that, it is still great - going to any water and catching with small flies, unless the really good anglers got there first, pricked the trout, therefore educating them and leaving the only way to catch them with booby 'shock tactics'.
