Default AnglingDirect Norwich

Has anyone had any dealing with Angling Direct in Norwich, there are doing the new Diawa Wilderness Deluxe 3/4 jacket on a special offer with free bib and braces.

They are not a dealer I has seen mentioned before and was wondering if they were any good or not before placing an order

I bought a John Wilson Avon Quiver from them for my lad last year and had no problems at all. If you are in the Angling Trust you can get an extra 10% off when ordering.

Don't go anywhere near them. I've never experienced such terrible service in my life.

I had an insurance claim and the insurers appointed Angling Direct to help (???) me out. I had every problem you can think off - not in stock - waiting for a new delivery - I (the customer) used the wrong E-mail address which was the one they supplied - their other one did not work. A premium rate 087 telephone number that rang one time for over 10 minutes. A invitation to leave a message but it won't accept messages. A complaint letter to the managing director that has never been answered. I could go on and on.

The upshot once was that the insurers tried to ring them and had the same experience as me - TWICE. The insurer apologised and settled the claim by cash but- six weeks after settlement Angling Direct phoned me to say they now had the goods in stocks and could they arrange delivery.

I've read threads complaining about other suppliers but, believe me, Angling Direct can't be beaten to the number one spot for uselessness, lousy service, non-responsiveness, out of stock excuses and any other negative points you can think of. Don't believe a word of what they say on the website - all lies.

Keep away from them - disaster is sure to follow.

I used to live in the area and shopped at Angling Direct regularly. Nice people and always very helpful. However, never used the mail order service. Also they are mostly a coarse fishing outfit and their knowledge and stock of fly fishing gear might be limited.
