Default The Flyfishers Club

Can anyone advise me what this Club is like?
I gather its housed at the Savile Club in London, so no doubt in an excellent setting...........

It's quite small - just a sitting room with books and cabinets round the walls, a small office for the Sectretary, and a dining room with one large table.

So, as a London Club, it's not up to much for the membership price, though the use of the Saville makes up for that somewhat, but the atmosphere is rather special with Skues' tackle on the wall.

Talk other than about fishing is frowned upon (definitely no business), but boasting of stockie bashing wouldn't go down well.

I didn't join because I never go down to London anymore. If you can find someone to take you to lunch there, don't hesitate - but wear a tie!

regards,

Doc

Just seen the "Derbyshire Dinner" reference here The Flyfishers' Club.

Maybe one of our illustrious Derbyshire members (Richard?) is a member, and can tell you more?

regards,

Doc

Thanks Doc. I do get into London quite frequently so maybe, as you say, if I can get an invite for lunch it would be worthwhile......

If you get the winning bid on Lot No. 9 on The WTT auction, you will get a guided tour and lunch!
