Default Advice please.

First post,so hello all.
Ive decided to start back fly fishing again after a 5-6 year gap,99% of my gear has been lost/broken (moving/Wife),so im after some advice plz.
Ive been looking at the Sage Vantage/Flight rods for around the £200 mark...Ill either be fishing the Neath or the Afan river hopefully,so im looking at a 8-9ft #4,mostly for dries.
Would anyone reccomend these rods,or any other please....any info would be gratefuly appreciated, thank you

Gareth

gaz, every man and his dog will tell you to "make sure you cast the rod before you buy it" very sound advice. all i can tell you is that it is a nice rod and quite forgiving if your casting isn't quite what it should be. as for value, i think you could do better. i did cast one of sportfish own brand rods yesterday. i was mightily impressed. i think they are called purecast? i didnt like the handle tho. good luck and enjoy looking, jon.

Hi Gaz welcome to the forum.
Please be aware if buying from overseas you will be liable for import duty which can often negate any worthwhile savings.
Not had any experience personally but I'm sure someone who has will pop in shortly.

Give John at West Wales Tackle in Carmarthen a ring he keeps the range of Genwair rods available for demo. If its rivers your looking at try their Nomad its a 9ft 4/5wt 5 piece travel rod. Casts like a dream and comes with all the gibbins like a transferable lifetime guarantee, rod tube and roll bag. Just bought one for my grandsons birthday and he lives it
