Default Generosity knows no bounds

A few weeks ago my sister lost the watch her late husband bought for her, she was distraught, after several phone calls over several days it was found, she met the elderly gent who found it and offered him a reward, he refused but after much insistance from my sister, he accepted, while they were chatting, her grandson, Josh had been in to Smiths to get a Trout and Salmon, on his return the old man asked what kind of fishing Josh did, when he told him he had just started fishing the previous year and was learning to fly fish, the old man told him that he used to fish but had to stop due to ill health and he would sort out his fishing tackle and give it to Josh.
There's a very happy young boy staying with his grandmother this weekend and he has a few new rods and reels along with lines, boxes of flies and a lot more besides and it's all down to a lost watch and a generous ex-fisherman.
So thank you from me and a big grin from Josh.

There is goodness in this world. Sometimes you have to lose something to find something even more beautiful. Cherish it.

Default Been down that road and enjoyed every second.

I have stuff 'coming out the 'Gazonga' as we'd say in 'Murican.' (Don't ask what body part that is ... you know.)

My 'Will' has all my fishing gear/fly tie stuff to "Casting for Recovery." "Pass it on?"

Perhaps a touch better place than I left it?

Hello it is always nice to hear there are still kind honest folk in life, had me thinking what i will do when like this old man!! sorry gentleman fisher do with all my fly gear when i reach that age of life when can only have memories, sending to auction or fleabay does not seem a fitting end to fishing life. i have 2 sons and not into flyfishing although i hope my youngest might be one day so have a nice boo rod and old reel, bag and bits for him just in case. with the rest maybe i will find a young fly fisher like josh so hoping he will find the passion and love we all on here have for trouting with fly rod and enjoying our beautiful countryside.
