The SW lakes trust website have info the trout waters they have, I used to live in Bude and there were some very big Mullet there in the river that run through the town into the sea, at certain times they would swim in from the sea but I know ****** all about tides and the best or right ones to fish, I also used to do a bit of work further south in and around Polzeth and there is a big river /estuary there which I would imagine could be good for a few fish however again I aint got a clue about what time of year, tides etc are the best time fish, hope that helps.

Thanks for response - i'll have a go at anything that takes a fly, mullet and bass would be great but any small streams with trout in would be great as well

To be honest you cant beat local knowledge for the bassing, and you could do worse then getting hold of Mike Bryant (flappy) in St.Columb but if you fish the estuary at Padstow at low tide and fish it back in you should pick up a few fish.
Mawgan Porth is also good, fish the river side there again low tide back in. (be careful and watchful as the tide can run around behind you)
Mullet can be got easy from Truro, go along the wharf past Tesco to the end and you will see them there.
But to be honest we Cornish are a bit secretive about the best marks as it took generations to find them, so a trip with mike might well pay off.

Oh yes...

A bit secretive, nothing wrong with that. I used to fail miserably trying to catch Bass at various places yet some of the blokes I worked with used to catch a fair few, they would never tell me their marks tho apparently I was a foreigner and a Grockle because I originally came from the westcountry and I dont blame them at all, a good Bass mark is worth keeping under your Pasty...)
