Default My New Rod

Hi all,
I recently purchased a new Sonik SK4 10ft weight 7 fly rod. I really like this rod but I'm having serious trouble shooting my line out. My last rod was a diawa wilderness and had no problem at all getting a straight and long cast. I am using the same line as before with my new rod. I'm too sure of the make but it's a wf7 floating line. It almost feels like it isn't gluiding throught the eyes of the rod smoothly. I was wondering if anyone else has this rod or if anyone can recommend a fly line that would be best suited to this rod. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was teaching a client with the same rod yesterday. He was shooting line without any problems. His is a Sonic line all nice and new, maybe yours needs a clean. Is the rod not a 7/8? perhaps your line is a little light.

I just had a look at the tube there and yeah its a 7/8. I just bought the line at the end if last season. It cost me £50 so it wasn't a cheapy. After eash day fishing I pull it through a baby wipe and before todays session i sprayed it with spray silicone but found it still felt it was running through the eyes roughly.

Send it back if you are convinced it is the line. I found the rod to be quite good in most respects.

You say you were teaching a client yesterday so you seem like a guy that could point me in the right direction. I mainly fish reservoirs so would you recommend a wf7 or wf8 for the rod I recently just bought.
Cheers.

A W/F 8 should solve things. Snowbee or contact the Pirate on here. He will sort you out.
