poor turn out, clicked the link from an email they sent out. took no time at all.
maybe reading about the latest super rod is more important than having somewhere to use it.

Better still to tell him what the problems are with your river and then ASK him to do something about it. Abstraction and diffuse pollution are a good start...

Probably and sadly, an element of truth. Thanks to Nelson66 for the thread. This is one of the things that these forums are good at - bringing important things, and actions that we can take, to the attention of dozy s*ds like myself, who only start whinging when it is too late.

Thanks for getting involved.

Despite Our Rivers having 250+ face book friends, 750 twitter followers, a link on the news page of the Angling Trust - only 150 people have sent in a letter so far

Make Rivers a Priority for Government's Water Agenda
This summer the Government will publish its White Paper on Water. This is an important opportunity for the coalition to set out its priorities for safeguarding the health of our rivers and protecting freshwater wildlife for the future.

We believe the Government must include two key commitments in this Water White Paper in order to protect our rivers. These are to:

1.Set out a clear timetable to restore the flow of our rivers and end unsustainable levels of abstraction, with action in the 2015-2020 water company investment period.
2.Reduce the impact of agricultural diffuse pollution on rivers and wetlands by ensuring more effective enforcement of environmental regulations, encouraging water companies to work with farmers to reduce pollution of drinking water sources, and by changing farming policy to reward land managers who deliver public benefits - including clean rivers and thriving wildlife.
Many voices are harder to ignore, so we are asking all of the Our Rivers supporters to write to the Minister responsible for water, Richard Benyon, asking him to safeguard our rivers for the future. It’s easy to do and only takes a few minutes – ACT NOW SEND A LETTER TO THE MINISTER –
About Us - Our Rivers

Funny that we all moan when things go wrong but so few people will take 2 minutes to help do some good.

The our rivers team have set a target of 500 repsonses - which is sad when you think that there are 4 million anglers in the UK.

Pls complete letter and forward link to your friends.
