Default New season just started in France

I live in Morbihan, Southern Brittany and the the wonderful run of dry warm weather has allowed me to get all of my grass cut early this week. So with the French season which opened on Monday and my new licence in hand i'm off later, only about half a mile away to a wonderful stretch of the river Claie, for a couple of hours.

I usually stay close to home early in the season, I have 4 good places in various places on the Claie, all within 10 minutes. As the weather warms I will travel farther afield to the Blavet, The Scorff and the lake at Brenellis.

I bought a book from Amazon called Fly-Fishing in France by Phil Pembroke and that has given me some new locations in neighbouring departments for me to sample this season and I can't wait to be honest.

it is quite strange that here in Brittany there is'nt the same passion for fly fishing that there is in other regions of France and especially at lakes the locals tend to take a great interest in anyone who is fly fishing and usually come over and ask questions and generally look on in wonderment, however I don't expect many new converts to the sport, judging from my catch compared to theirs!.

Hi Ian,

Well I would definately say yes, it covers every department, has little maps and map references and has quotes from local fly fishermen and is not that expensive, i've added a link.

Hello Dave

If you have a moment, please let me know if you're fishing the River Blavet presently, it would be great to hear from you.
