Default River Lyne North Cumbria

Hi guys,
I've got the chance of a season ticket for half a dozen beats on this river which is close to where I live. I've had a good look at it in various states; it is a spate river; and it's usually a very peaty brown ale colour. There's lots of tittle tattle locally about it; pollution incidents from farms, electro netting etc. It used to have a good reputation for brown trout and seasonal runs of sea trout and salmon; as well as specimen chub; but it's all anecdotal and I can't seem to find any robust, recent reports. It looks a fantastic little river, but if I'm honest, apart from one or two rises, I haven't seen much in it (probably due the colour). Can any body help?

Wow. "Death of a river" says it all. How on earth did you find that? Genious. Like the 2nd article says, it's a gorgeous little river with dramatic changes; sandstone cliffs, rocky bottoms giving way to gravel and silt; plenty of weed growth; plenty of shelter, certainly not over groomed. It screams fish. I can't find any catch returns or reports published anywhere though. I don't know of anyone who fishes it regularly either. Thanks for that though, appreciate it.
