Default Another amazing collection of WTT auction lots

22nd to 31st March 2011 for postal and internet auction. See also some special lots at the ticketed event at the Flyfisher's Club dinner on 5th April:
The Wild Trout Trust

This year's auction is also the first one where we are trialling the inclusion of a clickable map of all the fishing lots. Hopefully this will help give a sense of context to the text descriptions. Map here: Wild Trout Trust Auction 2011 - Google Maps

For this year's mouthwatering catalogue go here: http://www.wildtrout.org/images/PDFs...agloue2011.pdf

Good luck and many thanks for those who have provided lots and to those who bid on them - this is our major funding stream for "unrestricted" funding (i.e. funds that allow us to be flexible and not only deliver contractual outcomes that are associated with project-specific funding).

PS well done to Denise and Chrissy for putting this thing together again. A huge amount of work.

Some amazing lots listed there.

Am I right in saying they appear on ebay from the 22nd?

Best of luck
Brian

That's right Brian.

Best of luck if you find something you'd like to bid on.

Default Bidding

Hi Denise tells me that the bidding on the "usual suspects" lots is fairly brisk as expected.

However, if you are looking for a bargain, there are some fantastic lots in Ireland with remarkably little in the way of bidding so far.....

Good luck!

There are also some amazing tackle lots available as well as the fishing and the chance to get hold of some exceptional fly patterns that aren't commercially available.

PS - there is every chance that some of the high value lots like Patagonia, Iceland, Bahamas etc. could possibly go for a bargain price...So if you're looking for a trip like this; might be a way to do it and support care of UK rivers into the bargain.

I notice that there are also some ace Scottish and Irish lots in particular this year.

Denise tells me that there are still a good number of lots that have not yet been bid against - so there is certainly a good chance of a bargain or two.

Some piccies related to various lots to whet the appetite:

You could go one better than my fledgling efforts last year (one of which pictured proudly above!). You'll have the guidance of Colin Macleod or Pat Haughton on their bass fishing lots to help you on your way.

For the ultimate in a day's experience for two rods - and with an unbeatable set of professional quality photos as a reminder - check out FISH ON's extremely kindly donated lot (the four staff members of FISH ON will all be working hard on the day).

All these and many more (a couple of hundred more actually.....)

Default This one's a cracker

Forgot to put this one in the above text:

Stuart Crofts' Mission Impossible:

1 day for 1 rod 'Mission Impossible' River Don tribs, Yorkshire

Start price £75

Mission Impossible with Stuart Crofts. Your mission, if you should decide to accept it, is to fish with Stuart as guide on Wed 18
May 2011. The aim is to fish for just one hour on five different small rivers, within 15 miles of Sheffield and catch at least one wild trout from each venue. This will not be easy - stealth, cunning and the use of fine delicate equipment will be required. The reward, should your mission be successfully completed, is a pint of fine Yorkshire ale in a local hostelry at the end of the day. Stuart is a former England International, renowned entomologist, masterful fisherman and excellent company

Here are my fish to show that it is possible (but mine are certainly not all from the same day!) Each fish is from one of the watercourses that Stuart will be attempting:

All the above were taken in much less than an hour's fishing - but is it possible in a single day??

Are you bold enough to find out?????

Default And Finally

With one day left to go....

Check out Tim Jacklin's lot after having a look at the photo below. The beat in Tim's auction lot has produced a large number of fish of equivalent size to the one pictured in the previous season. Some bigger ones were lost as well.
