Default New season resoloutions.

Anyone decided to try a new tactic or idea to improve your fishing this year.
Mine is to take a little more care when stepping into the river for the first cast.
I have been fishing long enough to know better really, but sometimes in my enthusiasm, I walk into a known pool and start casting to a hot spot that I caught trout in last year.
The times I have done this, only to spook a good fish in the shallows, and probably bu66er up the pool completely!!!
So this year a little more thought on how to attack the river is definitely on the cards for me, and watching where I tread.
What about you?

Mine is to fish a team of buzzers more often when pursuing wild brownies on some of our Cumbrian lakes. I've been too wedded to traditional wets like Zulus, Kate McClarens etc., but a stonking brownie I caught fishing buzzers rainbow-style during last years fishing festival has made me rethink tactics especially in challenging weather conditions.

Default resolutions

maybe not quite a resolution but i fancy giving that tenkara fishing a go I can think of loads of places that are almost impossible to fish with a conventional cast because of the speed of the currents between you and the lie . I think its the boy in all of us that makes us barge in without a care ( and long may it last .)

Forgot to say, the other one was to stop falling in.

Mine is to actually catch a trout.

Been hard at it for the past few weeks after a long absence from the sport.
No success so far, but I can’t wait for tomorrow.

Drinks all round if I manage the miracle!

I've been fishing stillwaters through the winter but this will be my first season of fishing for wild brownies on a river, so my resolution is to take my time learning the water, to try to learn to roll cast better and to just enjoy being among wonderful wildlife in beautiful countryside by stopping more often and just looking properly around me.
