Default Clear Intermediates...advice please??

I need to replace my intermediate line. It is a WF7 Cortland clear / cammo and I was never really bowled over by it. Can anyone recommend a replacement - I think I'd prefer a clear one - I'd be interested to hear what people rate/don't rate at the moment.

Apologies if this has been done to death before, but I know that there are probably a number of new lines out for the new season.

As ever, thanks for your help.

James
ps am happy to purchase replacement off the forum!

'slime' lines as theyre known are, imo, rubbish. they have a terrible memory cast badly and sink erratically. i don't think they offer any fish catching advantage, but that's my opinion.

Personally, i rate the Cortland 444 blue intermediate. or the Pirate's Blue intermediate. Give the Pirate a PM, he knows lines..!
Cheers
Alex

If the cortland cammo failed to impress you then I'm not sure where you can go from here. Everyone I've spoken to loves this line. You could have a look into the Airflo clear ridge lines.

Title is the only way I can describe the memory problems I had with lines already mentioned if wanting to fish distance. It was ok for smaller water fishing.
I prefer the ghost tip lines with 15ft clear tip.

Good advice from the previous posts. I also don't like clear lines, as they tend to have a mono core, which causes memory problems, and unreliable sink rates. There is also no advantage to having a clear line, it's purely marketing. Coloured and braided core intermediates are much better, and far more relaible in terms of the count down methd on sink. The Cortland mantioned above is a great line for the price. more expensive are available, but only marginally better.

I have a scientific anglers one and suggest you stay away. It's not much fun to use, lots of line memory even after i've straightened it. It fishes ok, but not one i'd recommend

Clear lines are always wiry - mono core causes that and is mandatory in a clear line.

PP's lines or Sixth Sense inters are far more supple and useable.

Clear lines add little value IMO.

Hi, i have a clear intermediate shooting head from Airflo, have no memory problems with it. Had it about 5 years, has a nice green tinge to it now, probably from the running line leeching in on it. Fantastic line and have nothing bad to say about it. ck

I also have been fishing with a clear airflo 'slime' line, its a WF7 and had it about 4 years and i think its great!

If i remember correctly its the slow sink 'model' and doesn't sink as fast as my Di3, which isnt a clear line.
I love using this line, never had a issue with memory, its never became dry and i haven't ever lubricated it (i know i should). Cast well and does everything it should, perfectly!

Would have another, not fussed about the fact its clear as don't believe that idea.
