Default Airflo lines

Goings buy a couple of new sinking line densities and was going to get a couple of the airflo ones but heres the problem, they have double rated their lines eg. 5/6, 6/7 etc so which one do you put on a 6 wt rod to load it correctly?

I find the 6/7 sinking lines match my 7# rods nicely.so it may be that the 5/6 lines would suit your 6 #.It is a problem matching up.as I bought a few 7/8's before I Found them a Tad too heavy for my liking.
It really is a case of getting a hold of 1 to try.before you spend your money.

like Jim i would go with the 5/6 on a #6 weight rod incase you overload it

5/6 if you aerialise the whole head before your final cast

Default Line wt for 10ft 6wt

I would say for me Nick is spot on with the reference to aerializing the head as a general rule of thumb given your rod is on the upper limit of the 5/6 line rating given.A fast action rod may make a difference so tell us which rod you plan to put the lines on.I did seek advice from where I bought my first airflo dual rated line which proved to be correct based on the rods I was using which are not fast action.

I agree, take the higher number, go for the 5/6 for a 6 rod. I think this dual rating comes from their delta head design, but its confusing. Their Di7 7/8 for example overloads a 7 rod and I actually use mine with a 9 weight rod quite often its that heavy! You'll notice it even more with a Di7 though.
