Default Spring Trout Fishing Course 15-17 April

I will be running a fly fishing course for anyone interested in starting or learning more about fishing for springtime trout on the weekend of 15-17 April.

This will be on the Izaak Walton Hotel's water on the River Dove and residential at the hotel. It will be a fully inclusive weekend with two nights accommodation, all food, permits, tuition/guiding and evening entertainments...

We will be focussing on hatches, artificials, tactics and approach to springtime trout fishing.

PM me if you'd like further details

Cheers,

JT

John,

You have been highly recommended by a couple of my mates who have fished with you on the Calder.

I missed out on the Upper Tees weekend at the backend of last year so I am realy looking forward to April on the Dove.

Cheque is in the post.

Hi John,
Sorry you couldn't make the Tees weekend but I'm looking forward to seeing you on the River Dove next month.
All the best

Default 2 day course on the Dove

Thanks John,

Payment is on its way. After many years on still waters I'm looking forward to trying some river fishing.

Cheers
Ray

Default Update

The Dove is enjoying its very short closed season just now. Trout fishing begins tomorrow. Took a walk up the Dale the other day and it's looking gorgeous. The water is crystal clear and the trees are budding. Wild garlic is sprouting. LDOs are hatching and there are rising trout...

Here's one from last spring to whet the appetite:

A few places remain on the course (15-17 April). PM me if you'd like details.

Spent the weekend fishing the Dove with JT.

It was not good. It was MAGIC.

Inspite of low water, sparse hatches and bright sunlight, JT worked his magic and put us on to fish.

Thanks for a great weekend John. Saturday was probably my best ever days riverfishing in the UK.

Default Weekend on the Dove

The weekend was brilliant. The fishing, particularly on the Saturday was so good. For someone who has only fished reservoirs before it was a great introduction to river fishing. I learned such a lot over the weekend.

Thanks to JT, John, Carol and Scruff for a great time.
