Sunk lines made by Scientific Anglers, the numerics refer to the sink rate in inches per second.

Like you get Di3, Di5 and Di7 from Airflo, again the numerics refer to the sink rate.

A Wetcell 1 & 2 (I & II) are an intermediate and a slow sinker respectively.

The Pirate.

It is just a brand name of a fly line.Scientific Anglers is the company who produce them.
Sort of industry standard though.
Wet Cell I sinks slower than a II.

The Wet Cell II was/is about the most versatile sinking line. The name Wet Cell II disappeared but recently I emailed 3M to see if they did anything like it and received this very helpful reply.

"We still make the Wet Cel II - It is just now called the Professional Series Full Sinking line. The Type II is available in a 4 through a 9 weight

hope this helps

thanks for choosing Scientific Anglers"

Theres nothing to be ashamed of in "appearing silly or ignorant". No one knows everything, and there will always be someone who knows more. If someone turns his nose up at you for not knowing something, even the most basic thing... stuff him. I have been fly fishing for more than 35 years, and sometimes i am astonished by how much i can learn from young guys who have been doing it for only a few months. That's what i love about it. Just when you think you have it almost worked out, along comes someone or something, to show you exactly how little you really know.

Sounds like the 'Boys in Marketing' finally decided to fix something that wasn't broken. How many Decades has the WC lines been in used/sold under that name?

Too true Fred. And what if I don't want 'uniform sink' or a bloody clear intermediate. Bring back the original WetCel I!
