Default Sixth Sense or Ridge ???

Hi
I am looking at replacing 4 fly lines , slow glass, Di3, Di5 and Di7.
I was going to buy sixth sense lines but just wondered what popular opinion was on them and also on the ridge lines ?
I cant help thinking that ridge lines would wear a groove in the tip ring of the rod ?
What are your views ?

Cheers
Craig

Cant comment on the ridge lines as i don't own one ( but i get your point about the rings ).The only sixth sense line i own is a slow int it is a great line real supple, flies threw the rings, next to no memory and does excactly what it says on the tin. This is one of the older versions by the way

Hi. I have been using 6th sense lines following advice on here when I was having problems setting the hook when using intermediate lines.

In the cold I think that the line does not go through the rings as well as my cortland peach floating line BUT the lack of stretch in the line is fantastic and I think makes a real difference when fishing.

the ridges themselves shouldnt wear grooves in your rod rings as the line is much softer than the rings-any grit trapped in the ridges may well have an abrasive effect
as Jim says the old version sixth sense lines are going on e-bay for 17.99 inc postage-great lines , i use the sinkers and inters but not the floaters(never have so wont comment)

all the best Nick

Default 6th sense

Hello Craig

It seems airflo is a bit of a maze as they keep updating.I am an airflo line user and I think the sixth sense sinkers have a braid core and the ridge slow/fast glass lines have copolymer core.I have never fished with the clear ridge lines just a floating ridge braided core line which does not appear to harm the rings and it is a line pretty well used since 2009.It does however require more attention to detail when cleaning as the ridges do tend to hold crud more than a normal line.Back to the 6th sense slow/fast glass braided core lines which I currently use on reservoirs and to date very happy with.

Best JP
