Default Trout fishery that allows fishing with lures?

Hi everyone, I hope u can help me with a bit of info. Does anyone know a trout fishery within 100 miles radios around London that allows lure fishing? All the fisheries I’ve contacted only allow fly fishing. I am just getting into fly fishing now but my girlfriend only fish with spinners and plugs and she always comes with me so it would be nice if the fishery allowed now only fly but lure fishing as well.

Thanks

Only a suggestion but cant you both get fly casting lessons that way you can both learn together?,she may enjoy it more and it'll add another string to her bow

Neil

Sorry but don't know of any fisheries that allow both styles of fishing ( at the same time )

I think you could use lures on the Walthamstow Reservoir that is linked through a culvert to the one one that is stocked with trout. I've caught escapees on fly from this water, whilst trying to catch carp. I'll try and find out which of the ressies in the complex I'm referring to, but you'll only pay the cost of a coarse fishing permit.

It's High Maynard reservoir. Probably best fished late iin the season, but if escapee trout overwinter well, you might score from May onwards.

Hanningfield does.

Season strats this saturday - although I imagine that all the boats have been booked for the weekend.

You may wish to have a look at Manor Farm. They have a mixed lake during the summer months, however it is not stocked with trout during this time. Carp on the Fly is great fun though.

Gents, thank you all for your replies.

I myself enjoy fishing with lures as well and would love to combine flies and spinners.

Forgot to mention that Hanningfield is any method.

A lot of guys float fish with worm as well as spinning. Both methods seem to be productive.
