A friend and I fished on saturday. Was fish coming out everywhere, we did OK, 8 a piece, but there were people pulling out fish after fish in places, must have been well into double figures.

Flies were black and green lures (5), and a black cruncher (3) for me twiddled back fast-ish on a floating line. Fish were well up in the water.

Did you fish? How did you get on?

I was there Saturday, too.

It was very easy for the first hour or so and then the fish moved out of bank angler range, except in a few areas where the fish were very concentrated.

Overall it fished really well, mainly to lures and apps worms. I tried buzzers for a while but did not catch, although there were other folks catching on crunchers and suchlike.

Lots of fish in the 5-9lbs range, my first fish was over 5lbs and the guy next to me had one just over 9lbs in the first 5 minutes

Charlie

Just a quick comment on Elinor. First trip this year yesterday, the 25th March, with a pal of mine, and as usual did not disappoint. Ed was his up-beat self with info on areas, flies etc, and the water was as clear as can be with fish rising on and off all day (could not tempt anything to a dry).
By pub time, we had got 14 or so to the boat, both lost quite a few, and with pecks and pulls fairly consistently throughout. We stayed 'small' getting most fish on size 16 and 18 goldheads and a couple on small black buzzers with my mate getting a 7 lb plus (our scales stopped at 7) perfect rainbow which provided great entertainment for 5 minutes or so especially in the clear water.
Great day! Get up there!
Regards,
Del.

Oops, sorry, should be in stillwater updates; twit.
