Used to fish it regularly in the early months. It can be tough - very weather controlled, east winds (which are common at this time, in this area) kill it. But there are always fish in the river at this time. A rise in water (from 13") and a rise in temperature will bring them on. Fish 1 1/2" waddys off a wet cel 1 or a intermediate and you won't go wrong. Concentrate your attention on straight pools - I've never done well in corner pools - and the beats above the Westerdale bridge are best.
