If the idea of improving your practical fishing skills in the UK’s most beautiful countryside in the company of like-minded anglers, with help from local experts, then you’ll be pleased to hear that there’s going to be another week-long Cumbria Fishing Festival in the Spring of 2011, starting on May 14th. Lakeland is stunning in springtime and a visit during Festival week should appeal to non-fishing partners, too. There’s loads for them to see and do.

The Festival – a not-for-profit event - was created by anglers for anglers, with a programme of events created to improve angling skills taking place at a range of venues throughout Cumbria. The full program (including a number of new events) should be completed in the next fortnight but the website is now live at cumbriafishingfestival.co.uk Interestingly, with no publicity to date, a number of events are already well on their way to booking up.

Just looked at the Cumbria Fishing Festival link on the Windermere Anglers web site and noticed quiet a few more events have been added with some sessions for beginners which is great. It seems like more events are being added almost daily so defintely worth keeping an eye on as these events give anglers the chance to learn or brush up on different types of fishing . This Festival sems to being going from strength to strength.
