Default River Stour, Wimborne Dorset

Hi there everyone,
Just this week been down to wimborne to visit family and took the opportunity (whilst my other half did chores in town) to peer into the river stour between the co-op and lawn of waitrose. In this section i noticed loads, and i mean siht loads of trout and a good few grayling ranging from tiny 2cm hatchings to foot longs and everything in between, its really worth seeing. Beautiful clear water, sun shining, a hell of a lot of fish, but where can one fish for these guys? preferably just on the outskirts of the town would be best so you wouldn't build up a crowd, not that thats a problem its just i dont want to mess up anyones day by catching them with a stray false cast.
I havent done any net research but im half expecting someone to tell me of £300 day tickets, however im after something a little more on the credit crunch side of the spectrum...can anyone help out?
Cheers, Mike

The river in the centre of Wimborne is the Allen, the Stour flows through the suburbs

Oh thanks Taniwha, sorry i got confused. Just had a further look through the archives using 'Allen' and noticed there is a free stretch thats apparently worth trying out for a bit of fun, so thats cool.
Thanks again and if anyone can help out for more spots like this one please add to this thread.
Cheers, Mike
