Hi Fishing Junkie, Correct, 40 yds long and £49.99 with no Ridge Technology. Here's the Info from Fishtec...
"40 yards long the ulimate competitor fly line... As true masters of sinking line technology, remember we're the guys who created density compensation, low stretch cores and a standardised sink rate system".
"So its no surprise that we've taken this cutting edge range of lines that little step further. Knowing how much line you have left in the water at any one time is one of the keys to successful sunk line fishing and with our new 'hang marker' system, you'll have colour coded marks on your line that easily tell you how much is still down there. Sunk line fish just got a whole lot easier".
It depends on what you want and expect from a fly line. Having dropped the two part 40+ lines is a definate bonus, especially with crack offs!!
Airflo now have the capability of making one piece 40 yd lines and eventually I believe the full Sixth Sense range will be 40 yds long. Good for Boat fishing and I'll be trying these out this season, from the bank and in Salt Water.
Because they have a dual line layout, ie a faster sinking head and a slower sinking running line, they will follow a different sink path to that of a lighter running line, IMO. It's the retrieve angle that will be different, being much sharper. That's where the difference will be, turning a follow into a take, without taking the fish out of it's "comfort zone".
As for the price, it depends on what you want to pay really. I believe the price will change in the near future, but this is a new product, isn't it?
Hope this helps.
Best Regards
Stuart
