Default #4 floater for a Sonik SK Lite

Can anyone recommend a good floater to use with a Sonik 3/4 SK Lite reel?

I'm not sure whether to go with the Snowbee XS floating, XS Extreme distance, XS Double Taper or if there any other lines to consider besides Snowbee?

Also, can anyone recommend any good websites selling grayling patterns?

Thanks,
John

Photos are sh!t but the flies are superb..............

I have a Sonik SK4 3/4 8' rod for smaller rivers. I also have a Vision Attack #7 10' which I am using for boat fishing still waters but has been filling in on bigger rivers. Intend of getting a new Salmon/Sea Trout rod this year and possibly a 9' 5 or 6# Vision Cult. Thanks for the link I will take a look.

I would check it can hold a DT4, a DT takes up a lot of room, you may have to half the line.

Try the Snowbee XSD it's the delicate presentation line.

Get one of Pitsford Pirates Lines you will not go wrong.
Superb memory free lines at a fraction of the Snowbee lines.
If you really want a snowbee then contact Grommit on here.

A #4 line is perfect on that rod, although as has been stated the reel is fairly small and won't fit a full DT#4, however it will fit a full WF#4 as the running line is thin.

If you go for a DT#4, chop it in half, load one half and put the other half away for a rainy day, essentially two lines for the price of one.

Thanks for the advice.

It is quite difficult to tell whether different lines will fit on the reel or not because the reel spec is that it can take 40m (43.75 yds) of line. The lines themselves state the length but its impossible to tell because there is no measurement for the thickness of lines taking the tapers into account.

It does seem though like the DT line won't all fit on though if I cut in half that means I will then have two lines so that is even better value. Could even sell the other half if I'm not going to need it.

Do you know if the DPF XS Delicate Presentation Floater will all fit on, or is it just the WF line?

When I look at the shape of this line it looks to be somewhere in between the DT and WF lines.

Cheers,
John
