Default Newbie to Fly Fishing

I have a few Questions so please bear with me?

1 Do I need a fly rod license if I'm using a float or feeder rod on a bait lake?

2 What rod size and weight do I need for for all round work from small rivers and lakes to large rivers and lakes?

I live in North Cumbria so I'm looking to fish the Ellen,Eden and Calder rivers . And Gilcrux Springs (small) to Bessy Beck and some of the big lakes once I'm ready.

Many thanks

James

Smile Part answer

You will need a licence to cover the fish you are targeting.

i.e. coarse, trout or salmon.

Salmon licence covers all three, Trout covers coarse as well, or just coarse on its own.

Hope this helps

Harry

Brummie to the core Mike, albeit one who has spent countless happy hours West of the Tamar.
