Default A Sunglasses question

I need to get a new pair of shades(old ones are scratched and Im fed up with looking like Ali G innit!)
My question is, what colour lenses are the best all-rounders.
I mainly fish in the uk salt and do a bit of stillwater trouting when I want to actually catch something!
cheers
Ray

I like sandstone, but will change to yellow/amber for low light conditions.

try and get a pair with 3 changeable lenses , with grey/brown ,amber, and yellow then you will have lenses for all light conditions

Brown or copper are a good all round colour.

For a good all rounder if you probably can't get better that Costa Del Mars 580 lenses in brown. While not the cheapest glasses on the market. They are, in my opinion, the best.

I have found amber to be the best all rounder. I recently found a photochromic polarised lens, made to my prescription (but I guess they may do non-corrective lenses too), which I had made up in amber. They go dark amber / brown in very bright light and much lighter amber in poor light - brilliant!

I like a copper lens as an all rounder.Picked up some action optics at a nice price last year. Like the costa del mars but expensive and have had to send two pairs back to the states for repair (mirror lenses delaminating).

I have had for a couple of years a pair of yellow polarised shades, and found them to be excellent when fishing in smaller rivers where rtree cover brings shade. They are also first rate driving glasses, especially in fog.

I have just bought on ebay a pair of polarised sunglasses with a small magnifying 'bifocal' bit at the bottom, only £15, and saves using cocoons or flip-downs. Link:

A final observation - I started my fly fishing on a local river, and had been catching fish, until I changed sunglasses. Didn't twig the problem until I caught my reflection in the water - mirror shades flash back at fish. Caught nothing with them on, started catching again when they were replaced.
