Just moved to Burntisland, took a drive up to Stenhouse in November, met the new owner who told me the place had been run down but now the new managment team were on the verge of re-stocking, hav`nt been brave enough to chance a day on it yet. It looks a cracking water.

I live about ten mins away and went for a look one day (about year&half ago) and wasn't impressed!

Wasn't much bank space and incredibly weedy!! Whoever had it did say they were trying to do something about the weed!

In the local paper they try to show a wee catch record each week and there doesn't seem to be many fish caught.

fadpasser-how long has the new owner had it for, do you know?

It does look a nice place however kinda had the impression, when i went for look, that someone just fired a load of fish in and hadn't done much else apart from charge fisherman to try and catch them.

yeah, it def looks fishy and the guy who now runs it assures me it has been stocked and is ready to go, I`m just wary to take the plunge until I`ve spoken to someone who has actually wet a line, I too live only ten minutes away and would love to fish it on a regular basis if it was worth it,

Sounds good mate, am in Burntisland so you can see how keen I am to find that Stenhouse is a goer, I work strange shifts and the idea of a nice water right on my doorstep that I can get up to for an evening would be ideal, noticed yesterday there is now a sign on the road advertising the fishery, just cant find anyone who has actually fished the place

Stenhouse is a nice sized water for fishing the bank and buzzers and dries work well,, But the problem is the guy who own,s it or did own it had a poor attitude to anglers and never delt with the weed problem which in the summer cuts the fishing by more than half and makes the bank unfishable , Hope the new guy makes a better job ,,,,

I fished stenhouse the last couple of years under the previous owner. Loads of realy good bank space and good fun with the waders on too. Problem was the weed was left to run wild. Went up last week and new owner has totally cleared the weed and started to re-stock on a regular basis.(another previous problem)

Heading up to fish tomorrow morning so Ill let you guys know tomorrow night

Davie
