i second that mate even though i got a canny deal on a rod/reel there was only about 5 or 6 sellers 1 guy was even selling second hand stuff and the raffle table was poor deffently not worth the entry fee hopefully next year they learn by there mistakes and make it a better day out

Agree with everyone. Poor number of stands this year, if I hadn't met up with some long lost fishing pals I would have been in and out in about 30 minutes max.
As it was, I was there nearly 3 hours.
Where were all of the speakers and stands that were advertised?
Needs a rethink for next year methinks.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about that and I'd get out and give it a go. The GRXi reel will take a #7 line easily and as it's a quite heavy reel, I reckon it will be fine with that rod (imho). I have a GTX reel in 5/6 and have #6 to #8 lines on it. I use it with a #7 Demon and it's fine. The bigger 7/8 reel is a beast.
