AL, fare enough.

If you are brand new to fishing read the parts of this forum that might help with the parts your trying to learn. Tell us the area your going to fish and maybe someone has first hand experience in that area and will offer advise. Try and find local experienced person that you trust to give you advise and show you the ropes if needed. If you see fish feeding in the surface film, try a dry fly like a kink, maybe with a small emerger under it. Try searching patterns like woolly bu66ers or streamers. Vary your depth and retrieval speed. You have to learn what food sources are available on every body of water, then you can make smart choices for your offerings. Confidence is a big part of fishing, that comes from education and experience.
The continuous learning is a big part of our sport/hobby/obsession/way of life or what ever else you want to call it. Just enjoy and take it day by day for now

A slow day on the water is still better than being elsewhere.
