Look for any special offers on Greys G-Tec if still going. Sonik do good gear at a good price. Best if you can go to tackle shop and fully try some setups, ie have a cast with line not just wiggle about in the shop. It also depends on what stillwaters you plan to fish, for small 9ft 5 weight, for large resi 9.5 ft 7 weight. Others will say different as some is down to personal preference.

hello i think you will get all the help you need from advice to maybe a purchase or 2, best say where you are going fishing as this could decide the rod reel line required. good luck and great fishing

depends on how much you want to spend on a line?,you could go something top end like a Rio gold or for less than half that get in touch with the pitsford pirate who sells quality lines on here

I've a g-tec 9'6'' rated for a #6 a great rod for fishing smallwaters but its pretty fast

Never tried the Pirates lines but I have never heard anyone complain about them like some others. I use Cortland.
Newer lines made in the US are now much thinner than conventional lines and some have a super slick coating. You pays your money and you make your choice. Best of luck
