Default Reel with drag same side as handle??

Does such a reel exist?

I find it strange that one has to swap hands to adjust drag while playing a fish - either that or turn the rod upside down and do it from wrong side?

Am I missing something technique wise?

Seems to me the best place for drag is either on rim same side as handle, or inside handle where the quick release is.

I have a feeling vosseler do a reel with a lever adjust drag on rim.

I also found this that appears to have the drag in the middle.

Interesting website btw, out of ordinary gear, and the photo album is amazing.

Not sure if any exist, sure someone will come along soon and identify a couple. Would you want to run the risk of adjusting the drag while playing a fish and have the handle jam against your fingers?

Plenty of reels have the drag on the same side as the handle. But what's the problem.for most freshwater fish in UK, set the drag up properly before fishing and leave it alone.

You can adjust drag whilst fish taking line without worrying about changing hands then when reeling in go back to that hand no need to do both at same time .Agree with Jim set drag before you start may only need fine tune then?

Sorry for not being specific, but most reels from medium priced upwards.will give you a very good smooth drag.with low startup.
