hi guys has anyone fished thornton res in north yorkshire if so whats it like.

Hi terry,
We have fished there on a few occassions, the res is actually a concrete bowl with a sailing club thrown in. IMO worth a go, but getting a ticket to fish there is a bit of a pain in the butt !! We were only discussing this venue a few minutes ago as we aren't sure when it is open again !

ok cheers was thinking of joining a fishing club and this is 1 of venues you can fish free of charge

The little ressie is good for an afternoon, the fish are quite free rising and dry fly is often the most productive method.
