Went to Sheephouse yesterday; 1/2 day ticket and fished 07.00-12.30 ish.
On the plus side, the place is remarkably peaceful given its proximity to Slough, Maidenhead and Heathrow. Very few people (only 5 of us) at peak, so although it's not a huge lake it's big enough to easily find your own spot.
The big negative is the guy who runs it. A more unwelcoming, unfriendly, miserable prat it would be hard to imagine. He's a dour Scot, nothing against Scots of course, but this one takes the biscuit. Of the 5 of us who were there, none of us had been before - ie Saturday in June and no return customers; not the best business model. His wife told us they had been advertising to get more customers; personally I'd start with some customer care first.
It's probably a little unfair to comment on the fishing because it was brilliant sunshine with virtually no ripple. I didn't catch but my mate did get 2 on a slow retrieve booby. The 2 weighed in at 3 1/2 lbs total, the smaller been a rather thin, lanky specimen. I didn't see anyone else catch either and evidence of fish around seemed fairly sparse.
I wouldn't put anyone off completley - you don't generally go fishing for the social skills of the owner - but equally I won't be rushing back either.
