Default Is joining Prince Albert A. S. worth it?

I've received my invitation to join PAAS after a four year wait. Most anglers who have joined tell me they have only fish PAAS waters on odd occasions. Is there anyone out there that can confirm that there are plenty of good trout and salmon fishing opportunities in the N E Lancashire area?

BK

BK,
You used to be able to go on their site and check all the venues (I've not looked recently)
I got an invite a couple of years ago and declined - a search on here will show that your question has been asked before, and the answers.

Brian

Edit, have a read here LINK

...Just my way of saying I think it's worth it - you can always try it for a year or two rather than give up the long wait at the last fence?
For the price you get a lot of waters to cover and a good chance of something to fish when travelling out of the area e.g. on holiday etc.
May not be the best waters available but then you're not paying top dollar either.

If I could join today I would as it would give me a lot a of Salmon water to cover very close to home.

This is a club with enormous revenues, over £800k per annum. It acquires fishing rights, sometimes buying them outright, by the shipload. They have many waters. All of them as far as I can tell are in decline. The club's badge should be the Himalayan Balsam.

In despite of the wealth of this club it still doesn't employ a single, qualified, professional keeper.

If they have trouble with pollution at a water they have been known to simply drop it rather than carry out their duty of care and get the polluter stopped. It would need to change a lot before I put any of my hard earned into it.

i was in it for two years, most of the good beats are totally overfished.
more rules and regs. increasing all the time.wherever you fish take the rule book along, cause odds on you`ll be breaking one.
if you dont join the working parties you could travel miles to find the stretch closed.
i would give it a miss, only my opinion but a lot of other members would disagree

i totally agree , im scared of going in case im breaking an invisible rule ,& all the time looking over your shoulder waiting for gangs of anglers all intent on moveing you on so they can fish the beat you cannot relax if you are a game fisherman

I'm a member - i think its worth it.

I dont class myself as a game, coarse or specialist angler - just someone who likes fishing be it fly, trotting a stick or occaisionally sitting it out behind a pair of tips.

I cant think of a club which offers more opportunities to someone like me to have a bit of fun.

True, there are those who have swallowed the rule book - but you get that sort anywhere.

My son aged 15 joined this year - and i know a salmon pool which will not see another angler this season - where he will catch his first fish this summer.

I know a stick float run, where you can catch a fish every other run through and not know if its going to be a sea trout, chub, dace, roach, perch, barbel or flounder.

I know a lake where we can sit behind two feeder rods and hope to catch specimen carp, bream and tench.

Every club has its more popular venues, Prince Albert has plenty of them! but also offers good fishing off the beaten track for those who are prepared to search them out.

Now if your prepared to ignore some of the bullsh then there is some good fishing to be had.

My advice is join
