Default Greys Worldwide Extended Warranty

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone on here has had to use the Greys WEW warranty before. Need the middle section of my rod replaced. The only thing is that I have the GRXi but seems like the new GRXi+ model is only available.

Does anyone know how long it will take for the full turn around to get the new section?
If the full rod needs replaced as it is a discontued model, is there any extra cost involved?

Tried emailing the customer services with a few questions and they only sent a link to the website which is helpful for most things except these two.

Cheers,
Scott

I needed a replacement section for my Greys G-Series with the warranty. Cost £50. Took them about 2 days to get the section to me but thought it was a warranty not an excess

Thanks for that, would be happy if I got it back in days... was thinking it might take weeks.

Yeah it is costing me £40 for the one section... I wasn't happy at the cost as you said it is supposed to be a warranty not an excess but I love the rod so going to pay it.

I've used it twice and have no complaints, both on G-Tec rods. First was when I fell snapping the top section, not Greys fault so did not mind paying. The charge is for insurance, postage and packaging plus a % of the rods value. The second was when the rod snapped during casting, the rod was not 12 months old. I sent the section back with covering letter saying what had occurred, I still put in a cheque. They sent the new section with a note saying my cheque had been destroyed.
If the rod cost £300, and has 3 sections then it's £100 roughly per section, so £50 is half price.

I paid £69.99 for my rod and £50 for one section. Wish one of the sections costing £10 had broken. Just my luck

Far and away your best bet is to ring the no. on your warranty card and speak to them - you may be pleasantly surprised!

(.....amazing how many people are posting about this topic on here before they've even spoken to the manufacturer on the no. provided!!)

That is extortionate Hutch, I think I would of just paid the extra £20 and got a new rod.

They don't do the G-Series anymore nor do they do rods for £69.99 anymore.

Mine's worth £119.99 now anyway. Have to say it casts a heck of a lot better since the price went up

I have tried the number noeyedeer, waited on hold for 15mins each time with it just saying that the number is busy. Luckily Greys don't have a 08.. number and just a normal number. Then I tried emailing and got some reply but not all the info I was looking for. Thats why I then used this forum for first hand info on it.

Not posting it until tomorrow so going to try calling them again tomorrow as I am wanting more specific info since the rod is not made anymore.

I guess you must have been unlucky. I've spoken to them several times in the last 2 weeks and got an answer within a few rings. Try at different times of the day maybe?
