Default Advice on new Poloroids

Hi all. New season will be upon us sooner than we think so I'm starting to get my gear in order and decided to buy myself a new pair of glasses. I mainly fish small streams, sometimes over grown sometimes not, so I'm looking for a pair that in your opinion will suit. Non prescription and imagine price not an issue. Any and all advice welcome.

Bill.

I like Costa Del Mar sunrise lenses for fishing in poor light conditions, have found them excellent in low light or overcast conditions. In the case of brighter light conditions I like their green mirror 580 lenses.I was only expecting to use the sunrise lensed glasses for late on in the day but they have been a revelation in the above mentioned conditions.

Thanks Steve. Had a search and found both pairs with tortoise frames. Look nice and not to hefty on price either. Might just get me a pair

Try and make sure you get amber/ orange lenses. Much better in low light as wellas sunlight

Copper, amber / orange, sunrise , green, so many different lenses and that just the tip of the iceberg. I'll explain my situation better. When I'm fishing these small streams it is sometimes possible to stalk a fish under overhanging trees especially on bright days when trout hide in the shadows. Problem is 9/10 when casting to a barely visible fish under these trees i inevitably spook one slightly up stream i cant see who alerts the fella I'm after. I'll have to get a pair regardless for bright sunshine, spotting fish in low clear water and casting up stream into a glare so its either the costa green/amber/copper, but the other pair I'm after are ones that enable me to see into dark water if that makes sense. I have a pair of flying fisherman Calcutta, but meh, not really up to the job ,not for what i want anyway.

I ware mine more for protection, not from the sun but my bad casting. If it gets any worse I am going to have to get myself a motor cycle helmet with tinted visor

Hi,

I think Costa Del Mar especially the 580 range or the Maui Jims are regarded very highly. The 580's use a glass lens which have excellent optical qualities, but can be a little heavy for a long fishing session.

If i was to choose one colour lens, it would be amber due to the greater contrast it provides.

Ok so Costa Del Mar especially with 580 lenses are the way to go - just looked on line and they are over £200!!!!

Anyone know anywhere you can buy these a bit cheaper?
