Default rockbourne

Well fished rockbourne this week..really wanted to see if there had been any improvements from my last visit and subsequent post..
Fished it on a 3 fish ticket remaining for now at £40.. so that's a good start.
All the fish that i caught were about the 3lb mark just over..had one snap me off in the branches which looked the better fish at a guess 4lb maybe just over but deffinatly better than the rest..spoke to the new fish manager ..he seemed to be keen and interested.. a marked improvement from the last guy.
Said that he was trying to cut back alot of the over growing tree's and veg,
certainly better than last time i went about 9 months ago..the venue he said was a more rural setting and the owners not keen on cuuting to much back..which is a fair comment..but the need to cast is also a fair comment.
He said that there are fish upto the about 4lb in but nothing much bigger at the moment, needs to get more angliers there to stock larger fish he explained. Surely putting larger fish in is the way to get it back too it's normal self. Not asking for 20lb monsters but good 6-8lb would be a start as it's a so called "premuim" water. The guy is deffinatly trying and if left to get hold of it by the scruff of the neck should do well. All the lakes had several swims cut back and are now fishable which is good...lakes cleared of all floating branches and cr..p. So rockbourne better than it was last year and i think if the guy left to control it should do well..i'll leave it up to you what you think on price and size of fish..last time i caused quit a stink..but there you have it..Probably leave it another 9 months before i return.. but it's getting better...

A brief note to say that Rockbourne are now stocking with brownies and - wait for this -Arctic Char. According to the website they've been doing so for just over a month now. Place was reasonably busy last Sunday when I popped down for a few hours in the afternoon. I overheard a couple of fellow anglers talking about Char and brownies, but didn't twig until I received a letter from the fishery manager today, inviting me to renew a season ticket which expired over a year ago, that they'd changed their stocking policy. I think they are trying hard to make this place a bit more interesting.
