Forget the show. Find a dealer that will let you actually test a couple of rods in real life. Two I know of are both in Wales Cliff Harvey (Pontypridd) and West Wales Tackle (Carmarthen) but most good shops will be willing though you might have to leave a deposit to make sure they are returned. Thats another service you won't find from an internet dealer. Also try and get a good 4 or 5 piece rod if you intend to travel nowadays it must fit in your suitcase as lots of airlines will charge you up to £50 each way as it will be classed as extra baggage.
Three I tried recently and was very impressed with were the Genwair Concept a 4 piece 9ft 4/5wt complete with tube, roll bag, spare tip section and a proper transferable lifetime guarantee (thats the one I bought) and their Pawl which for £75 comes with the same and is excellent value The other was a 5 piece by Legend again came with tube etc but it was black and i don't personally like black rods. Anyhow always try BEFORE you buy its no good complaining the action does not suit you afterwards. When you are happy buy it then have a drink on me
