Default glue on the loop too loop

i use a grays loop with mono for my connection to the leader of course the leader has a loop on it. but when i do my loop too loop conection should i put glue on it or not? it does look quite silly without any glue...

i'm not quite sure what your talking about.why would you glue the loop-loop that would make it permanent ,you would then have to knot on your leader/ tippet.
loop-loop are designed for ease of changing

yes i know they are for changing, but it doesnt look right the loops become very loose and i cant seem too get them tight thats why i thaught of glue... do the loops have to be the same size as i might of gone wrong there.

the loop on your line should be about 11/2-2 " as should the loop on the leader
when the leader loop and the fixed loop come together they should make a fig of 8 knot.

what is the difference in leader /fixed loop diameter/breaking strain

The connection is pulled and held taut by casting and fishing. No need for any glue. One of the best points of the Grays loop is the ease with which you can change a whole leader set-up.

Its sounds like it is possible that you are putting the loop to loop together wrong? correctly they close each other up! wrongly they do not and the loops stay open and as you say look silly.

Correct method and I hope this is not taken the wrong way! - Pass the braided loop or loop on the fly line through the tippet loop, then the tippet tail through the braided loop, slide together until snug, the two loops with hold each other closed. After a few casts the loops will straighten and all will be right.
