I live in Austria and posted 2 4 piece rods to the UK this week . One cost 13 Euros something and the other nearly 15 Euros. The first one only took 4 days to arrive, the other only went off yesterday.

Strange that it should be so much more expensive going the other way - it´s the same distance!

The cheapest method to use is Royal Mail Airsure service it gives insurance cover on the item as well.

If the rod is over 9foot it will not go airsure and will cost a heck of a lot more the maximum length for a tube is 900mm and the total of length and twice the diameter must be no more than 1040mm. These are the maximum sizes for airsure.
