Question Fishing waistcoats

I have been asked to help design two new fishing waistcoats, so I thought that I would go back to basics and ask other people what they look for. There will be two types a short one for wading in and a longer one for bank and boat use.

What do you carry in yours and what would you like to see in a new fishing waistcoat. waistcoat?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I really like my Greys GRXi wading waistcoat and it has lasted me well, loadsa pockets of various sizes to fit everything from flyboxes to leader ring packs in them. From previous dunking experience I would really like to have an internal waterproof pocket to the waistcoat for phone and camera (had to buy a new phone after i slipped whilst wading).

Also I do not know if other waistcoats have them but a strong net extender thing built in to the back would be useful.

I can't resist a fly waistcoat with lots of pockets and D rings etc.

Unfortunately, what I actually need is a waistcoat with fewer pockets, deeper pockets and not opened by zips that open so far that things fall out and which jam at the wrong moment.

So, do you want to design a waistcoat that sells, or one that is actually useful?

Lightweight, lightweight and lightweight. i like the use of string/mesh so you can wear it in the summer, a big clip on the back for your net and not an over abundance of pockets!! Also, please make one in Mens sizes. i've got a wychwood XXl and it'd barely fit the wife.

The Wychwood 4 seasons long is pretty good.ticks most of the boxes.for a bank/boat waistcoat.

What I would like is something that makes me rationalise what I carry and makes me look like a bloke out for a day catching 6 to 12 inchers rather than terminator on his way to finish off New York.

Something with a place for a knife, a priest, a ruler/tape measure, 2-3 leaders, floatant, that fly patch thingie from C+F, nippers and a net. Can't be that difficult, can it?

By who ?

Simms G4 jacket makes any waistcoat redundant. I like the way people wear waistcoats in boats
